Step 1: Log into Your Community
Once you receive your login details in the welcome message, log into your Ballot Bliss community and navigate to Settings and select Voter XLS Import Validator.
Step 2: Enter Your Community Name
On the XLS Validator page, type in the name of your community in the Provide Community Name field.
Step 3: Upload Your Voter List
Click Upload File to upload your prepared voter list in XLS format, then click Continue to upload the file into the validator.
Step 4: Choose Your Header Row
Select the header row in your spreadsheet, then click Continue.
Step 5: Map Your Columns
Map each column in your spreadsheet to the corresponding voter information fields (e.g., First Name, Last Name, Email, etc.).
If your name column is combined, select Same Column.

For User Type, you can either map the column from your spreadsheet or select from preset options: Owners, Managers, Tenants, or Other.
If your address is stored in:
One column: choose Single Column and map it to “Full Address.”
Multiple columns: choose Split Columns and map each part (street, building, unit, etc.) individually.
Don’t forget to scroll to the bottom and map your Ownership Percentage column.
Once everything is mapped, click Continue.
Step 6: Validate Your Data
Ballot Bliss will now scan your voter list for:
Missing information
Invalid email addresses
Duplicate contacts
This ensures your data is accurate and ready for import.
In this example, there are some rows with errors in the uploaded voter list.
Click Show All Errors to display only the rows with issues, making them easier to fix.
Step 7: Fix Errors
Click on any red error message to view the reason for the error. Then click the pencil icon to edit it directly on-screen.

After entering the correct information, click the green check mark to save it.
Once fixed, the row will automatically disappear from the error view.
Step 8: Download for Offline Editing (Optional)
If you prefer to fix errors later, click Download to export your voter list as an XLS file.
The downloaded sheet includes each row and the reason for the error. Before downloading, make sure to uncheck “Show All Errors” so your entire list - not just the error rows - is included.
Step 9: Confirm Addresses
After correcting all the errors, Click Continue to move on to the next step.
Next, confirm that your voter addresses are correct before proceeding.
In this example, all voters are located on Mask Ave, which is why only one street name is shown.
After verifying, click Continue.
Step 10: Download Your Validated List
Once your voter list has been validated, click Download XLS to get your error-free voter list. Send the downloaded list to the Ballot Bliss team for prompt import into your community.
